Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee tax compliance and planning for our German operations, ensuring adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic tax advice on complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.
- Analyze and interpret new tax legislation and its impact on the company's operations.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and represent the company in tax audits and disputes.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and provisioning.
- Oversee the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and other tax filings.
- Identify and implement tax optimization strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities within legal boundaries.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, particularly those affecting the company's operations in Germany and internationally.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Taxation, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional tax qualification (e.g. Steuerberater).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate taxation
- In-depth knowledge of German tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and transfer pricing.
- Strong understanding of international tax principles and cross-border transactions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in tax software and MS Office applications.
