Job Description
Provides tax advice and services related to US Transaction Tax, primarily focusing on validating Tax Exemption Certificates (TECs) received from customers and communicating any inaccuracies to stakeholders. The main goal is to ensure compliance with US laws and share findings accordingly. This involves researching various US state laws, analyzing and documenting tax issues to ensure correct taxability. Responsibilities include understanding related systems and accounting processes, working with external customers and advisors as needed. Collaborates with businesses and other functions to implement business or process changes and participates in cross-functional projects with finance and non-finance teams when required.
- Opening is for US, Canada & PR Sales Tax/Indirect Tax profile (Sales and Use Tax)
- Candidate would handle internal business consulting on Customer tax exemption certificates including validation and uploading in system
- Advise front end business and resolve any dispute/issues relating to customer exemption certificate (Sales Representatives/Order Management/Collections)
- Night shift working ( 2 to 3 days) during Month end/year end
- Daily night support for every 2 hours
- Working on projects/initiatives
- Monitors effectiveness of SOX/tax controls
- Support on tax audit assignments
Qualifications
- Excellent Communication both written & verbal and ability to communicate with teams across geographies.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of work experience in indirect tax (with 1 year of US, Canada & PR Sales tax experience preferable)
- Good in doing research work and fixing any issues
- Good analytical skills
- Good knowledge of Accounting
- Sound ERP knowledge. Knowledge of SAP is added advantage
- Willing to take initiative
