Overview:

Rite-Hite is searching for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our tax team. This position is responsible for the preparation of the corporate and family office income tax reporting obligations and general support of the tax department, and will report to the Tax Manager located in Milwaukee, WI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
 

• Prepares US federal, state, & local income tax returns for all corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts.
• Prepares federal, state, and local extensions and estimates for all entities.
• Prepares & organizes workpapers for international income tax returns.
• Prepares correspondence to tax authorities regarding notices or other requests, amended returns, etc.
• Understands tax and accounting concepts to perform tax computations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Investigates tax notice & compliance matters to determine their nature and scope, and presents suggestions or questions to facilitate resolution.
• Organizes and maintains tax work papers, filing records, and relevant correspondence.
• Actively uses tax resources to perform tax research and stay current on legislative changes and ideas.
• Supports tax and accounting departments with special projects including research in other areas of tax.

Qualifications & Skills we are looking for in this role include:          

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 1+ year of tax experience is a plus
• Solid computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel
• Tax software experience is a plus
• Takes initiative to identify and resolve problems promptly
• Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
• Stays organized and effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Maintains confidentiality
• Positive, flexible, open-minded

 This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
