Job Summary:
The Tax Analyst will play a pivotal role in our finance department, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and contributing to strategic financial planning. This position primarily involves assisting in the preparation and filing of federal, state, local, and sales & use taxes as well as researching tax law changes. The position will have broad exposure to all areas of tax and will have the opportunity to be part of the development of the tax processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1065/K-1 Preparation: Prepare Federal Form 1065 and partner’s distributive share items (K-1 7 K-2/K-3).
- Annual State & Local Return Preparation: Prepare annual return filings to meet regulatory deadlines consistently.
- S&U Tax Monthly Calc & Research: Perform monthly sales & use (S&U) tax calculations and conduct related research.
- Sch M Maintenance: Manage Schedule M adjustments to reconcile book-tax differences.
- Tax Depreciation Rollforward: Roll forward tax depreciation schedules to ensure proper capitalization of assets.
- Monitor 45X PTC: Monitor section 45X production tax credits (PTC) to optimize financial benefits. Support documentation requests as needed.
- Royalty Withholding Processing: Process royalty withholding payments.
- Build Tax Forecast: Assist in building comprehensive tax forecasts to aid in strategic decision-making processes.
- Maintain Cumulative DTA/DTL - Partners: Maintain cumulative deferred tax assets/liabilities records for partners’ equity accounts.
- Vendor Maintenance - 1099/1042: Maintain accurate vendor records for 1099 and 1042 reporting.
- Assist Payroll with Payroll/Withholding Tax: Assist the payroll department with payroll/withholding tax queries or issues.
- Ad-Hoc Research: Conduct ad-hoc research on relevant tax issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar
- 3-6 years of experience in a similar role. Ideally with exposure to partnerships.
- Proficiency in relevant accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on changing tax laws.
