The Challenge

We are looking for a forward-thinking, articulate, results oriented Tax Accountant to support the T2 International Tax team in meeting Indirect Tax compliance obligations (including VAT, GST, and DST) with respect to Direct-to-Consumer sales globally as well as supporting on other projects as required. 

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with team collaboration, working within an agile and fast-paced environment, and providing polished and self-reviewed results. Excellent communication skills are vital, along with attention to detail, confidentiality, dedication, and a willingness to work hard and get the job done.

What You’ll Take On

  • Perform, support and communicate the calculation of the monthly indirect tax accruals across multiple entities and territories.
  • Calculate, review and reconcile Indirect Tax returns using provided tools and templates for approval by various stakeholders in the wider T2 business. 
  • Manage the submission of returns using our submission partners, and maintain records of approvals and submissions.
  • Manage the settlement of taxes owed by various T2 entities and ensure settlements are correctly reflected in the accounts of each business by performing month end reconciliations. 
  • Monitor sales in territories where T2 is not registered for Indirect Taxes for breach of registration thresholds.
  • Support the UK Tax Team with various Direct Tax tasks such as posting Transfer Pricing adjustments, tax revaluations, reclasses and reconciliations; and tax expense analysis. 
  • Support the UK tax team preparing direct tax calculations and provisions, or other tasks as required. 
  • Collaborate with the UK and US tax teams, as well as external providers, to support on various projects as required. 

What You Bring 

  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience, including experience in high volume tax compliance and indirect tax. 
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex tax concepts in English is required in this position.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the business partners and to develop working relationships with management and staff in all departments.
  • Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles
  • General understanding of SOX compliance for a public company
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment utilizing organizational and team-oriented interpersonal skills to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deal with multiple changing priorities.
  • Self-starter working under minimal direction and drive tasks or responsibility to completion and meet the deadline.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functionalities and formula (e.g. pivot table, SUMIF/SUMIFS/VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP/INDEX/MATCH formulas, etc.)

 

Great to Have

  • Specific experience with multiple territory Indirect compliance is desirable. Exposure to US GST is not required for this position. 
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP, Hyperion Financial Management/Hyperion Planning systems, and BlackLine reconciliation tool a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and building simple macros will be a benefit in this data-heavy position, but strong Excel skills will be sufficient.
