Job Description:

Providing for loved ones, planning rewarding retirements, saving enough for whatever lies ahead – our policyholders count on us to be there when it matters most. It’s a big ask, but it’s one that we have the power to deliver when we work together. We collaborate and innovate – pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own.

We’re actively seeking a talented Global Mobility Lead to join our Global HR Operations team in one of our office locations: Newport Beach, CA; Omaha, NE; Toronto, CAN; or London, UK; and may require occasional travel.

As part of our company strategy, we have introduced a new operating model designed to enhance collaboration, standardize processes, and scale operations across our divisions and functions. This model aims to deliver greater value to our customers by establishing a unified global operating framework. By improving our ability to work across boundaries, we are also creating more opportunities for internal mobility across a wide range of roles within the organization.

As a Global Mobility Lead, you will drive the development of people experiences, processes, and technology related to global talent mobility. You will develop an operational program framework aligned with our broader talent strategies, streamline mobility processes across various locations, and enhance overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in talent mobility programs and HR business processes.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Implement Talent Mobility Framework: Create a comprehensive operational framework, playbook and end-to-end processes to achieve global talent mobility strategy and objectives.
  • Assess International Mobility or Reporting Relationship Requests: Advise on feasibility, compliance requirements (e.g. right to work, employment tax & social security, reporting, etc.), estimated cost, and overall recommended approach.
  • Matrix Employment Relationships: Partner with HR Technology to establish tracking and business processes for matrix employment arrangements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with HR COE leaders, Technology, Finance, Legal and other departments to ensure seamless integration, alignment of global talent mobility processes.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Awareness: Ensure compliance with regulatory changes, particularly those related to immigration and tax in key markets, as well as best practices and standards that impact global employment arrangements.
  • Global Assignments or International Transfers: Coordinate global mobility services, including immigration, with third- party vendors (immigration, tax, and relocation services).
  • Overall Governance: Establish and maintain effective tracking and reporting mechanisms for global employment arrangements.
  • Provide Employee Support: Offer guidance and support to employees and managers that are going through the global mobility process
  • Promote Awareness:  Provide education, awareness and advice to the wider business related to the global mobility framework by creating communication materials and tool kits
  • Relationship Building: Develop relationships with key senior leaders and stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations related to global talent mobility.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze mobility trends, costs and program effectiveness. Prepare regular reports for senior management.

The experience you bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Talent Mobility and related HR program administration processes.
  • Experience managing global mobility programs, including international assignments and relocations.
  • Experience with Workday HCM (Human Capital Management), including understanding of business processes, compensation plan eligibility, performance plan eligibility and position management.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, HR teams, and external vendors.
  • Strong project management skills to oversee complex integration projects and impacts of those projects on talent mobility strategy.
  • Knowledge of global HR compliance and regulatory requirements, particularly related to immigration, tax, and employment laws.
  • Prior experience participating in HR process reengineering or enhancement/alignment efforts.
  • Experience supporting complex HR transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working effectively in a matrix organization, particularly in collaboration with and through others to get things done.
  • Prior experience working in a Global HR Shared Services model.
  • Process improvement and continuous learning mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certification is preferred.
