Job Description
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for recruiting the best hires and providing great experiences to our candidates. They put in place creative talent acquisition strategies for each specialty in their portfolio, so that Rodeo FX is positioned to find the best talent worldwide. Recruiting for all Rodeo offices globally, they put in place proactive methods to attract top talent that fits within the Rodeo culture.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist completes the entire recruitment cycle, from the initial intake meeting with the Hiring Manager, to finding, attracting and selecting the best talent, and closing the deal by making the employment offer.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for the complete recruitment cycle for assigned positions:
- Meet hiring managers for intake meetings: identify the specific needs of the position, team and department, finalize the job description, confirm the hiring team and process, etc.
- Prepare attractive job postings in English and in French and ensure the position is visible on job sites and on social media;
- Source both active and passive candidates to identify, connect with, and recruit the best talent;
- Assess candidate profiles, validate profiles with the hiring manager, as needed;
- Conduct candidate pre-screening interviews and share notes of potential candidates with Hiring Manager;
- Prepare interview grids, assist Hiring Manager in interview preparation, provide coaching as needed. May participate in interviews with candidates as needed;
- Maintain up-to-date candidate information in the ATS, etc.;
- Conduct reference checks and background checks as needed;
- Prepare and extend employment offers to selected candidates. Negotiate as needed;
- Notify all candidates who have not been retained for the position in a timely and respectful manner.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hiring managers to proactively understand the requirements of each department and ensure the alignment of our practices. Regularly update the hiring manager on the status of their open positions, providing reports as needed;
- Coach managers on hiring trends and talent acquisition techniques;
- Ensure the best candidate experience throughout the recruitment cycle;
- Proactively build a pool of qualified candidates within assigned specialities by developing and maintaining ongoing relationships in social or professional networks. Attract and identify the optimal candidates in line with our current and future requirements (talent pipeline);
- Participate in organizing various recruitment or networking events, within the VFX Community and within schools. Positively represent RodeoFX at events;
- Actively participate in special projects in order to elevate the Talent Acquisition function, such as by developing training, contributing to employer branding projects, attraction strategies, creation or refinement of hiring processes, ATS optimization, etc.
- Positively represent Rodeo FX within the VFX and related communities, both locally and in the worldwide market, to further grow the company’s reputation as an industry leader.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar position;
- Must be bilingual in French and English.
- Must have experience in Visual effect or 3D animation industry;
- Must be based in Montreal;
- Good knowledge of MS Suite and ATS systems;
- Discretion and confidentiality;
- Strong interpersonal skills, judgement, resourcefulness, results-oriented and initiative.
The person in this role will work closely with our teams in Toronto and Los Angeles. They will also be involved in discussions with our clients worldwide to showcase RodeoFX's technical and creative capabilities.

- 3 days on site in our Montreal location.
