About the Role:

Develops, researches and identifies prospective talent providing a pipeline of qualified candidates. Acts as a strategic partner to hiring managers for job opening requirements. Defines, refines, executes and communicates search strategies. Acts as an expert in assigned regions, line of businesses, functions and technologies. Screen resumes and applications and may interview applicants. Analyzes industry and geographical trends in talent. Determines appropriate recruiting sources for advertising and posting positions. Negotiates and/or supports hiring manager in developing new hire compensation package/offers.
Specialize in technical recruiting and/or highly specialized executive searches. Manages tools, resources and technologies in identifying talent.
In addition to talent acquisition focus, is responsible for all HR needs in Switzerland and effectively collaborates with the rest of the HR team and stakeholders on other HR related activities for Europe or globally. Supports HRBP team in one or more areas including employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, employee retention, coaching/development, conflict management and ad hoc projects as necessary.
Provides effective solutions to changing business objectives using organizational effectiveness techniques. Delivers key HR programs, processes, practices, guidelines and policies to provide strategic consultation and coaching to the business, leadership, the HR team and employees. Collaborates with HR-specialty teams to develop and deliver HR programs and guidelines, and solutions to increase employee engagement and achieve company and HR team goals.

Your Contributions:

  • Works closely with hiring managers to understand business needs and to define unique search parameters; provide market insights and talent analytics that support or guide unique recruitment strategies

  • Strategically identifies talent-rich recruitment grounds and tactically build pipelines of top talent

  • Works with leaders to identify critical skills and roles and builds pipeline for future needs

  • Closely manages applicant flow end-to-end including applicant review, pre-screen/interviewing and offer evaluation

  • Ensures recruitment efforts are conducted in a manner that is unbiased and compliant with all policies and legislation, in addition to following best practices for applicant tracking, interviewing and hiring

  • Grows existing network, foster new relationships and attend networking events to further identify talent for the organization

  • Provides weekly and ad hoc updates to Talent Acquisition team, hiring managers and business partners as needed

  • Participates in the selection of outside search partners, where necessary

  • Partners with HRBP’s, the compensation team and hiring managers to make recommendations on job offers, get necessary approvals and facilitate making the offer to candidates

  • Maintains a level of literacy about the organization, including its financial position, its culture, and its competition

  • Partners effectively with HR specialist groups including Talent Development, HRBPs and HR Ops (compensation, benefits, HCM, other)

  • Deliver HR support and guidance on a variety of HR projects. Works in coordination with the HRBP’s, Workday HCM, and the Talent Management teams

  • Lead day-to-day activities, programs and projects for key HR Operations functions including, but not limited to: Contingent Workers, relocation, onboarding/offboarding and immigration

  • Resolve complicated employee and manager questions regarding policies, procedures and programs. Respond effectively to various questions regarding HR-related projects and systems

  • May assist with employee relations issues and/or reasonable accommodations as needed

  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in legal risk assessment as well as the application of employment law in most HR business situations

  • Strong understanding and practical application of labor regulations and policies and ability to apply based on situation

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience, training, or certifications and 6+ years of relevant experience;  or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 4+ years of related experience. Pharmaceutical/ Biotechnology industry preferred

  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is essential. French would be a plus

  • Proficient with and works to improve tools and processes within functional area

  • Developing reputation inside and outside the company as it relates to area of expertise

  • Ability to work as part of a team; may train lower levels

  • Exhibits leadership skill and ability, typically leads lower levels and/or indirect teams.

  • Excellent computer skills, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills.

  • Detail oriented yet can see broader picture for department, impact on multiple departments/divisions.

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Proven track record of finding unique ways to source and attract qualified candidates

  • Experience delivering full cycle recruitment services

  • Experience working and negotiating with outside search partners

  • Expertise using social media and search tools such as LinkedIn; Experience using ATS systems required

  • Superior selection skills and a high level of proficiency in assessing individuals

  • Persuading, influencing, negotiating and consultation skills

  • Stakeholder management and relationship building skills at all levels, as well as internally and externally

  • High business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively with leaders across the organization

  • Results-driven with an ability to demonstrate/quantify success relative to established targets and metrics

  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in legal risk assessment as well as the application of employment law in most HR business situations

  • Strong understanding and practical application of labor regulations and policies and ability to apply based on situation

  • Ability to deal effectively and confidentially with employees at all levels within a diverse workforce regarding HR related topics

  • Understands application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards, especially in areas of responsibility

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to coach employees, teams and mid-level management through complex, difficult and emotional issues

  • Adaptability and capability to understand changing business objectives and needs of assigned clients to provide effective solutions through organizational effectiveness

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues based in other time-zones, including occasional late afternoon meetings

  • This role is based a minimum of 4 days on-site in our Basel office.
