The role:
At Royal IHC, we are at the forefront of innovation in maritime technology. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated purchaser to join our team as a Tactical Purchaser. Your job:
As a Tactical Purchaser, you will be responsible for procurement within the Sas Hytop division. This division specializes in equipment such as hydraulic power packs and various solutions for offshore vessels. You will ensure the procurement of the necessary components to bring these solutions to life, including steel structures, engines, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.

You will procure equipment for vessels we build in-house and for equipment sold to external parties. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in establishing our international supply chain, offering a unique challenge alongside your regular responsibilities.
Additionally, you will:

  • Take the lead in procurement for projects involving offshore and dredging equipment.
  • Manage and execute the entire procurement process for assigned projects.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers, ensuring strong partnerships.
  • Establish and manage new supply chains in lower-cost countries, driving efficiency.
  • Identify, plan, and implement cost-reduction strategies in line with Royal IHC’s strategic goals.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the procurement process for all goods and services.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams and suppliers to ensure timely and quality procurement.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of procurement strategies and procedures.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the procurement lead for key projects, creating detailed procurement plans and ensuring their successful execution.
  • Coordinating operational procurement tasks with team members to meet project goals.
  • Expanding and optimizing the international supply chain to support Royal IHC’s global ambitions.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any challenges proactively.

Your profile:
To qualify for the role of Electrical Installation Supervisor, you should have:

  • To excel in this role, you bring the following qualifications and skills:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or economics.
  • At least three years of experience in procurement within the hydraulic, offshore, marine, or a similar technical/commercial industry.
  • Technical knowledge of hydraulics is a plus.
  • Proven experience with procurement processes and supplier management.
  • A proactive and independent work style with strong organizational skills.
  • A tactical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a structured approach to tasks.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or project requirements.
     

Only candidates with a valid EU work visa will be considered.

We offer:

  • A gross monthly salary between €3,841 and €5,602 +8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week).  
  • Good work/life balance with 40 vacation days for full-time employment with the option to buy or sell (additional) leave.

Selection process:
After your application, a CV screening will take place. If your profile aligns sufficiently, a brief telephone intake with the Corporate Recruiter will follow. If not, you will be informed via email. The selection process consists of two interview rounds. The first interview will be with the manager and a direct colleague. During the second interview, another manager and someone from HR will join. If everyone is enthusiastic, a phone call will follow to discuss the terms of employment.
