The Role

We are seeking an experienced System & Network Engineer to join our Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure and network solutions for multiple clients. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:System Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows, Linux, etc.) and virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues.
  • Implement and manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and user account management.

Network Administration:

  • Design, deploy, and manage LAN/WAN/VPN infrastructures.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and access points (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti).
  • Monitor network performance and ensure high availability.
  • Perform network troubleshooting and resolve connectivity issues.

Client Support:

  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for client escalations.
  • Assist clients with hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Respond to and resolve tickets within SLA timelines.
  • Communicate complex technical solutions in a clear and client-friendly manner.

Backup & Security:

  • Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity.
  • Configure and monitor security tools (e.g., antivirus, endpoint protection, intrusion detection systems).
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and security policies.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate periodic reports on system health, performance, and compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge bases and technical documentation.

Requirements:Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or similar.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365 administration.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Clear and professional communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an MSP or similar multi-client environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.
