Department OverviewThe System Implementation Engineering Manager is a critical leadership role within the organization, focused on managing a team of engineers who specialize in designing, deploying, and expanding sophisticated communication and surveillance systems for public safety customers. The role requires a deep understanding of land mobile radio (LMR) systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software systems, and video surveillance technologies. The manager will ensure that these mission-critical systems are implemented effectively and reliably to support the vital operations of public safety and emergency response agencies.
Job Description

Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for the design, deployment, and expansion of public safety communication systems, including LMR, CAD, and video surveillance.

Collaborate with public safety customers to determine their specific requirements and ensure that system designs meet their mission-critical needs.

Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful implementation of communication and surveillance systems within the required timeframes.

Act as the primary technical liaison between the organization, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to coordinate system deployment and integration efforts.

Develop and enforce best practices for system engineering processes, ensuring high reliability, security, and performance of deployed systems.

Provide technical oversight and quality assurance during all phases of system implementation, from initial design through to final acceptance testing and sign-off.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement by staying abreast of advancements in public safety communication technologies and integrating them into system designs where applicable.

Manage the training and professional development of the engineering team to maintain high competency levels in relevant technologies and implementation methodologies.

Prepare and present detailed reports on the progress of system implementations, including any risks, issues, and proposed resolutions to stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to public safety communication systems.

Basic Requirements
Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or a related technical field.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and deployment of communication systems, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

In-depth knowledge of LMR, CAD, and video surveillance technologies used in public safety environments.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects with a track record of successful, on-time, and within-budget delivery.

Strong leadership and team-building skills, with proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills, with an ability to engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

Ability to work in high-pressure, mission-critical environments and make decisions that impact public safety operations.

Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) and familiarity with NFPA, APCO, and other public safety communication standards are highly desirable.

At least upper-intermediate level of English.
Work Environment:

The position requires availability to travel to customer sites for system deployment and critical meetings.

This role may involve working in emergency and high-stress situations, necessitating a flexible work schedule that includes being on-call and available outside of regular business hours.
