We are seeking a dedicated and skilled System Engineer to join our Automated Internal Systems team.
Job description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, IT support, internal security, and system administration, with a focus on both Linux and Windows environments. This role involves collaboration with the IT department and Internal Security on installations, updates, and the application of security policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Network Analysis & Maintenance: Utilize tools like tcpdump and Wireshark for capturing and analyzing network traffic to troubleshoot and optimize network performance. Perform analysis, change, and maintenance of network configurations based on organizational requirements. Implement best practices for network change management to minimize disruptions and maintain consistency.

Monitoring & Emergency: Organize and support on-call personnel, participate in regular meetings, and address proposed changes.

IT Support: Provide support to the Internal Systems department in communication with the IT department, define and consult on HW/SW modifications, and assist with the procurement of new HW/SW.

Internal Security Support: Review policies, propose changes and improvements, and test proposed solutions.

System Administration: Administer systems (e.g., Linux) not supported by the corporate IT department.

Project Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain internal projects such as Docker registry, Grafana, and Prometheus.
Required Experience:
-
Networking: Experience with networking, configuring interfaces, and VLAN segmentation.

Linux Administration: Proficient in Linux OS administration.

Windows Administration: Basic knowledge of Windows OS administration.

Security Standards: Familiarity with security standards for systems and services.

Server and Storage Solutions: Understanding of server and storage solutions.
Preferred Experience:

Containerization Tools: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools.

Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of Zabbix and/or Grafana.

Authentication & Authorization: Experience with AD, freeIPA, or similar tools.

Atlassian Products: Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.

Certifications: Any relevant certifications, such as Cisco, are a plus.

Scripting: Basic scripting experience (Python, Bash).
Soft Skills:

Communication & Assertiveness: Strong communication skills and the ability to assertively present new ideas for improvement.

English Language Proficiency: B1 level English proficiency to understand the technical aspects of the position.

Learning Agility: Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.

Basic wage component (gross): from 2500 EUR
Performance bonus 2 times per year up to 10% of the basic salary paid for the evaluation period (usually 6 months).
* The final basic wage component can be adjusted accordingly to the individual skills and experience of the selected candidate.
