Summary
The Systems Engineer leads the requirements analysis, tracking and verification for hardware development programs. This position pertains primarily to the requirements definition and validation segment of military simulator design/development and is largely project oriented. Design organization, management, and testing are within the duties to achieve program completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze and manage customer inputs to define requirements

Derive System and Component functional requirements
-
Define hardware system architecture and design approach
-
Provide System/Subsystem tradeoff analysis and design support
-
Develop and conduct program test plans to verify requirements
-
Interface with customer for requirement tracking and testing witness
-
Support engineering demonstrator and/or test units, conduct testing, and analyze test results
-
Perform technical writing tasks: requirements, procedures and reports
-
Provide program proposal development support
-
Conduct cost estimating, planning and scheduling of System Engineering efforts
-
Create program documentation to support contractual deliverables.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
*Candidates must be a US Citizen and not have been previously denied a security clearance
Education:
-
Bachelor Science degree in an Engineering discipline
Skills and Experience:
-
Minimum 4 years Engineering experience
-
Minimum 2 years experience in hardware Systems Engineering
-
Proven ability to develop innovative solutions both individually and part of a team
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences including peers, management and customers
-
Computer Aided Design (Solidworks, CREO, etc.)
-
MS-Office
Preferred Skills
-
Experience using DOORS and JIRA
-
Simulation equipment experience
-
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
-
Ability to develop and implement program plans and processes for the Systems Engineering team
-
Understanding and application of Earned Value Management (EVM)
-
Programming and/or database administration (MATLAB, C/C++, LabVIEW, Python, Jira, SQL, etc.)
-
Hands-on testing and debugging complex systems in a lab/test facility environment
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
