Overall Objective of the Role

We are seeking a System Engineer / DevOps Engineer with expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and system administration.

You will be part of the Infra team within the Infra & Orch Group, which focuses on developing tools and processes for installing, configuring, and managing our partner’s products. The Infra team is responsible for both in-house applications that support product infrastructure (such as user management, authentication integrations, and system configurations) as well as third-party open-source solutions, including databases (MongoDB, Vertica), monitoring tools (Prometheus, EFK), and other technologies like Kafka and MinIO.

In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing our infrastructure, ensuring system scalability, security, and high availability.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring & Logging: Manage monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, EFK) to track performance, detect failures, and optimize resources.
  • Maintain & Optimize Messaging System and Storage solutions (Kafka, Min.io, Redis etc).
  • Kubernetes & Containerization: Deploy, monitor, and manage Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement best security practices, vulnerability fixes, and compliance monitoring.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve system performance and availability issues.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with development teams to improve system reliability and performance while maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Code & Test cases: Conduct code and test case reviews to ensure the developed code aligns with requirements, follows best practices, and maintains high quality standards.
  • Research & Implement: Research solutions for low-latency, high-availability, and performant infrastructure as a member of a multidisciplinary team working on a complex stack of technologies.

Requirements

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field. 
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Strong experience containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
  • Experience with integrating and managing open-source applications (Grafana, Prometheus, EFK, Kafka, Min.io etc).
  • Hands-on experience in large-scale (distributed) system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization.
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages: Bash, Python.
  • Experience configuring and debugging Linux based systems.
  • Solid knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and routing.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience with OpenStack (private cloud).
  • Experience with virtualization environments like VMWare.
  • Experience with REST APIs.
  • Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Vertica.
