POSITION SUMMARY:

The Systems Engineer 1 is responsible for the planning and engineering of an organization's systems infrastructure. This includes the implementation and design of hardware and software. This role monitors the performance of systems. This role is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field and relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The Systems Engineer 1 works under general supervision and requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs detailed analysis of problems, performance and capacity for critical systems and develop appropriate corrective or proactive actions.
  • Acts as a front-line interface to users, accepting trouble reports and dispatching them to appropriate system administrators.
  • Develops and tests changes in non-production environments.
  • Documents system processes and procedures.
  • Actively participates in both formal and informal System Engineer training opportunities.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 0-2+ years of experience

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, and sitting
  • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
