Ghost is seeking a strategic SVP of Revenue to lead our sales organization and drive revenue growth. As a member of the senior leadership team, this role will be responsible for overseeing a team of 35+ sales professionals, optimizing processes, and aligning efforts between the sales and product teams. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a strong operational mindset and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, marketplace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Set long-term and short-term sales goals and ensure targets are met consistently.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching to ensure team success.
- Recruit, hire, and train new sales staff as needed.
- Create a positive, results-driven culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Design and implement incentive plan to optimize performance
- Sales Operations and Process Improvement:
- Optimize sales processes, tools, and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure the use of CRM systems (eg. Hubspot) to track sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline management.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and make adjustments as necessary to achieve goals.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners.
- Oversee the negotiation and closing of large or high-value deals.
- Address client concerns and resolve issues to maintain long-term partnerships.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track sales KPIs and provide regular reports to executive leadership.
- Analyze data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and growth opportunities.
- Use insights to adjust sales strategies and tactics.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and other teams to ensure alignment and maximize revenue generation.
- Provide insights to Product based on customer feedback and market conditions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Forecast sales performance, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans as necessary.
- Market and Competitive Intelligence:
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
- Adjust sales strategies and tactics based on market intelligence to stay competitive.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of sales leadership experience, with at least 3 years managing large teams.
- Operational Expertise: Strong background in sales operations, process improvement, and using data to drive decision-making.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with marketplaces or retail is a plus.
- Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with product, marketing, and other teams.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to think big-picture while executing tactical plans to achieve goals.
- Leadership Skills: Inspirational leader who can motivate teams, foster a culture of accountability, and drive high performance.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot) and sales analytics tools.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas to senior stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Salary range for this role is $250,000 - $300,000 based on qualifications and experience.
