Make Your Mark:
As the SVP of Global Pre-Sales at BlackLine, you will own the strategy for building, developing, and retaining a high-performing pre-sales and Value Architect team that aligns with BlackLine's global sales objectives. You will drive revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and win rates by ensuring that our pre-sales teams deliver tailored, impactful solutions that resonate with prospective and existing customers. This role is about fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence while unifying our regional teams under one cohesive strategy.

You'll Get To:
1. Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams:
- Build and nurture a global pre-sales team that drives business growth and customer satisfaction. Ensure the team is highly skilled, aligned with BlackLine's global sales strategy, and consistently follows best practices.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and expertise in BlackLine's software solutions.
2. Pre-Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Define, implement, and continuously refine the pre-sales strategy to ensure alignment with BlackLine's global business objectives. Drive impactful programs that improve client engagement and directly contribute to revenue growth.
- Develop processes, tools, and methodologies that consistently deliver high-value solutions for prospective and current customers.
- In collaboration with other GTM organizations, Presales will own the initiation of business value assessments and overall business case to quantify the impact BlackLine's solutions have on our customer outcomes.
3. Regional Leadership & Standardization:
- Oversee regional pre-sales leaders and ensure consistent execution of best practices across all markets. Standardize regional processes to create a unified pre-sales function that operates efficiently across the globe.
- Work closely with regional teams to ensure local nuances are addressed while maintaining alignment with global strategy.
4. Customer Engagement & Custom Demos:
- Guide the development and delivery of customized demos, presentations, and trials that resonate with potential customers. Ensure that the pre-sales team is equipped to effectively demonstrate BlackLine's software and address client needs in areas such as technical capabilities, accounting, and business solutions.
- Lead and support the team in handling high-stakes client presentations, ensuring solutions are tailored and clearly communicate BlackLine's value proposition.
5. Revenue Generation & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with regional sales leaders, product teams, and alliance partners to execute pre-sales strategies that drive business growth and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Develop and execute revenue-generating programs, ensuring they are aligned with BlackLine's broader business goals and market needs.
6. Track and Measure Performance:
- Define and track performance metrics for pre-sales teams, including regional leaders and Solutions Consultants, to ensure alignment with key business goals and objectives.
- Continuously assess and improve pre-sales effectiveness, using performance data to make informed decisions, optimize programs, and drive ongoing success.
7. Industry Relationships & Client Success:
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry executives, sales leaders, and enterprise performance management teams to foster strong partnerships and ensure alignment with BlackLine's objectives.
- Ensure that pre-sales activities contribute to high customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
8. Operational Performance & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate dashboards and reports to track key metrics such as new customers, bookings, and customer success stories. Provide regular business performance reviews to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Ensure pre-sales programs and operations are optimized for effectiveness and efficiency, adjusting strategies as necessary to drive desired results.
9. Product Feedback & Collaboration:
- Gather and provide feedback to Product Management on customer needs, software functionality, and demo improvements. Collaborate closely with internal teams (Implementations, Training, Support) to improve product offerings and customer experience based on pre-sales feedback.
- Lead the team in identifying opportunities for product and demo enhancements based on field insights.
10. Develop and Share Best Practices:
- Drive the creation of BlackLine best practices, use case scenarios, and customer success stories to effectively demonstrate the full potential of our software.
- Foster a knowledge-sharing culture within the team to ensure consistency, innovation, and continuous improvement in how pre-sales solutions are delivered globally.
What You'll Bring:
Years of Experience in Related Field: 10+ years' experience in pre-sales leadership roles and 5+ years in a similar role.
Education: Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years combined experience in Accounting/Finance, Finance Transformation and Financial Systems related positions
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with partners, prospects & clients
- 10+ years of experience making presentations and the ability to demonstrate strong presentations skills
- Proven ability to translate prospective client/partner objectives into solutions enabled by our product
- Experience selling and managing large transformational projects at strategic accounts
- Experience creating and delivering compelling presentations
- Experience consulting on process improvement and technology enablement
- Proven experience with pre-sales of SaaS software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to build relationships and trust with prospects, clients and staff
- Strong ability to demonstrate and persuade using influencing skills and relating to customers in a consultative manner without being pushy or twisting arms
- Proven ability to handle customer objections and addresses them effectively
- Strong ability to translate how the products apply to the customer's business and their needs
- Prefer individuals with experience using BlackLine's software in the past
- Be a motivated self-starter

Salary Range:
USD $264,000.00 - USD $330,000.00
Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
