LPL is seeking a result driven and adaptable professional to lead and support the Legal & Government Relations (LGR) organization in a Chief of Staff capacity. The SVP, Business Management must be an innovative problem solver who is able to move fluidly between executing on the strategic vision of the department while staying attuned to the minute details. The successful person will be deeply involved in business execution decision-making and must prioritize and balance commitments while building a reputation for reliability, objectivity, and partnership across Legal & Government Relations and the enterprise.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish and maintain effective management and reporting routines that allow the Managing Director to focus on “items that matter”
  • Prepare and provide thought leadership for executive level reports and presentations, including the Board of Directors, Management Committee and Executive Steering Committees
  • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives and department-wide deliverables with senior leaders across LGR, LPL Foundation, and Community Impact
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director and the LGR leadership team to create department goals and operationalize the business plan
  • Manage the governance and production of the department’s executive-level dashboard, which includes key performance metrics that provide transparency into the effectiveness of the organization
  • Participate in ongoing business planning (e.g., budget, headcount, key priorities, initiative funding)
  • Act as proxy for Managing Director and/or business unit as needed
  • Oversee all aspects of expense management including headcount
  • Prepare influential executive level presentations to facilitate fact-based business cases, recommendations, and program updates
  • Ensure close partnership with Human Recourses partners and other COEs across Legal & Government Relations to ensure adherence to firm-wide deliverables

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Prior metrics and reporting experience; comfortable extracting themes and “connecting dots” to create insights from key performance indicators
  • Ability to represent the LGR’s leadership team’s views, jumps in as needed to support the overall greater good of LGR, LPL Foundation, and Community Impact
  • Build trust with team and colleagues, able to work successfully across all business units
  • Excellent project management and planning skills
  • Proven ability to convey a compelling story through executive level presentations in PowerPoint
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a high level of commitment and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A motivated self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit who can work both autonomously and collaboratively
  • Exhibits sense of urgency with commitment to timely execution


 

Pay Range:

$167,500.00 - $279,100.00


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
