Job Description

Purpose and scope of role 

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Chief of Staff team at Shawbrook, supporting the Group's Senior Sustainability Manager with the continued evolution and delivery of our sustainability strategy. This is a cross-functional role which will play a critical role in implementing, measuring, and reporting on the Group's sustainability strategy, including collaborating closely with key internal and external stakeholders.

Key role responsibilities

Embedding sustainability: work with Senior Sustainability Manager to support the continued embedding and execution of the strategy to deliver against agreed strategic priorities (Planet, Society and Impact) by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Market insights: keep abreast of emerging sustainability development, standards and regulations, and share insights to help ensure we stay ahead as an organisation.

Sustainability governance: prepare and input into committees and working groups papers, follow up on agreed actions, and drive continued momentum. 

Internal and external sustainability reports: Manage the end-to-end processes for delivering internal and external disclosures (in line with external frameworks), including data collection and verification. 

Emissions measurement: Manage the end-to-end process for operational and financed emissions measurement, encompassing data manipulation and stakeholder collaboration, to ensure accurate results. 

Community and charitable giving activities: Own and manage all charitable and volunteering-related activities and processes, including working with our strategic charity partners.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working on sustainability matters within the financial services industry, ideally specialist banking.   
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Good communications skills- high standard of written communications and presentation production.
  • Self-sufficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to create compelling presentations with attention to detail.
  • Able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills.
