General Summary
The Support Technician provides front-line technology support for a fast-moving animation studio. This position is responsible for technology equipment lifecycle administration, installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting of technology issues.
Job Functions
- Work with the Technology ticketing system to triage and service operational support requests.
- Deploy new desktop setups and upgrades for studio staff and infrastructure.
- Ensure setups meet the highest standards of neatness and accuracy.
- Assist Technology Operations staff with audits and asset inventory management.
- Work with Systems Engineering staff to develop and optimize system imaging processes.
- Assist Systems Engineering staff with setup and maintenance of Technology infrastructure equipment.
- Assist Technology infrastructure staff with imaging and racking blade servers and blade workstations in an Enterprise-level Data Center.
- Perform tape operations for regularly scheduled offsite and archival backups.
- Develop and document procedures and checklists for operational workflows.
- Receive and process new technology gear for inventory and reconcile shipments with purchase orders and ticket tracking system.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in an enterprise Mac/Linux/Windows support role.
- Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts and practices.
- Knowledge of automation tools and concepts.
- Well-organized with strong planning, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., data centers and closets and under users’ desks).
- Calm and personable under pressure.
