POSITION OVERVIEW

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the suppliers develop their process(es) in line with the Hyva’s design intent and verify their systems to ensure they are compliant. This includes on-site supply chain company verification.  The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Operations Quality Assurance function on an on-going basis in line with the Quality Management System and Quality Policy to ensure that the business’ products and services are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations.   The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures that suppliers continuously improve, develop and implement best practices that emphasize: 1) Defect prevention  2) Reduction in variation and waste  3) Meet quality standards requirement  4) Procedures and Processes adhered to the Hyva standards, to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for auditing internal and suppliers' processes to prevent and/or correct quality issues to impact on the production line.
  • Manage the Product Part Approval Plan (PPAP) process for new parts.
  • Manage supplier-related quality issues in relation to Product Production and Warranty, including processing and component returns.
  • Make sure all the claim details are reviewed and closed from time to time with the After Sales team.
  • Support plant quality teams in driving containment action to ensure production schedules are not prejudiced.
  • Initiate supplier driven containment activity to ensure production schedules are not prejudiced.
  • Review and approve 8D Corrective Action Plans.
  • Establish containment plans related to quality discrepancies.
  • Ensure suppliers are developing corrective action plans to enable operations to continue with minimum disruption, following up regularly.
  • Be a proactive member of the Quality Pillar in continuous improvement team.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations can continue without a detrimental impact to the process from a quality perspective caused by suppliers' quality.
  • Develop steps with suppliers to close the gap between suppliers' processes and Hyva quality needs.
  • Monitor the new parts development and progress reporting to the Cross functional team.

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational Level: Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: minimum of 4 -5years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience working as a Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, or in a similar role within the mechanical engineering industry.
  • A welder qualification certificate/ Knowledge of welding technology, special process, assembly sequences will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel , Power point for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience of managing the APQP/PPAP/Control Plans etc with different category suppliers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good English proficiency, presentation, and communication skills
