Purpose Statement:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Livingston, UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth and success of our new facility while developing your career within a global leader in electronics manufacturing.

The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a critical role in driving our Zero Defect Strategy by ensuring the quality and compliance of all incoming raw materials and services from our supply base. This position represents the voice of quality to our customers, external auditors, and internal teams, fostering strong relationships with suppliers to exceed expectations.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Supplier Qualification: Lead supplier qualification processes, including risk assessments, audits, and evaluations, to ensure compliance with our Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Part Qualification: Drive robust part qualification activities, including Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP), to ensure product quality and align with customer requirements.

  • Supplier Management: Proactively manage supplier performance, including corrective and preventive actions, data analysis, and risk categorization.

  • Engineering Expertise: Leverage engineering expertise to assess supplier processes, including design reviews, PFMEA, control plans, and SPC, to minimize risk and drive continuous improvement.

  • Strategy & Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of supplier quality strategies and support the professional growth of other Supplier Quality Engineers.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements within the Supplier Quality function through the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs).

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.

  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and SPC.

  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, CMQOE) preferred.

  • Broad understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry best practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Less than 40%
