Supplier Project Engineer

Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Supplier Project Engineer to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market RPS technologies. In this role you will be responsible for management and technical integration of supplier work scopes supporting Zeno RPS projects.

In this role you will:

  • Act in a project management capacity for supplier performance management and oversight
  • Apply classic project management tools to oversee suppliers including cost, schedule, submittal oversight, and resources
  • Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to ensure contract and technical direction with supplier meets technical and project requirements
  • Develop statements of work (SOW) and engage in project planning to execute supplier activities to meet project deadlines
  • Manage development of supplier specifications or other technical work documents collaboratively with technical and project team
  • Facilitate supplier selection activities with requests for proposals (RFPs) and team review/selection processes in conjunction with the Project Manager and Contract Manager through the full project lifecycle 
  • Provide direction and oversight of supplier work scopes, working with the Project Manager to ensure delivery of data and other deliverables
  • Coordinate project technical review process of supplier deliverables and ensure appropriate responses
  • Manage technical interfaces between supplier and project/technical team
  • Oversee submittal process between supplier and project team

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Technical degree preferably in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, or systems engineering 
  • > 7 years experience in supplier oversight required
  • Understanding of fabrication travelers, welding, and similar manufacturing processes
  • Experience with codes and standards related to I&C, mechanical, and chemical hardware fabrication
  • Experience defining supplier work scope to include development of SOWs, RFPs and providing direction and oversight of supplier projects required
  • Demonstrated skills in management of suppliers in design environments
  • Established skills in supporting contractual aspects of customer/supplier relationships
  • Previous experience in technical interface with engineering groups for review and input to supplier activities
  • Strong communication skills desired

Preferred Qualifications 

  • PMP certification preferred or equivalent training
  • Prefer 3-5 years of experience managing fabrication activities in an R&D environment
  • A broad understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering disciplines and how they interrelate

Job Functions

  • Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, remote work is optional on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Travel: Travel is required,10-15%
  • Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)
  • Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 15 pounds
  • Repetitive work: Prolonged
  • Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work
  • Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary band for this position is $140,000-165,000. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
