Job Description:

This position supports the Global Inside Sales organization and reports directly to the Senior Manager, Inside Sales. The Supervisor will play a critical role in executing sales development strategies across the team that drive pipeline growth and support Vertex in achieving its new sales revenue goals.

 

As a frontline leader and day-to-day resource for the Global Inside Sales team, this role provides oversight, coaching, and tactical support to help team members maximize pipeline generation and consistently exceed performance KPIs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage SFDC and Salesloft Dashboards to ensure the team is meeting/exceeding KPIs.
  • Represent Inside Sales when applicable in cross functional meetings with Marketing, Sales Operations, and Business Systems Analysts to support the business processes
  • Conduct one on ones with team members to review results versus targets, set action plans, and ensure accountability
  • Lead team activities, and coordinate projects to ensure thorough execution against timelines
  • Boost the environment and culture within the team which supports the Performance Zone, and overall corporate objectives while demonstrating Winning Way behaviors.
  • Ensure accurate information is captured in Salesloft and Salesforce by the team and perform quality checks
  • Ensure sales pipeline remains full of enough qualified leads and prospects to enable the sales team to exceed their annual quota.
  • Provide support to the Manager, Inside Sales to ensure the team exceeds sales pipeline goals and revenue quotas
  • Monitor team activity and motivate team members to exceed goals
  • Provide coaching, continued training, and professional development opportunities to team
  • Help resolve interpersonal issues within department and escalate, if required
  • Schedule and lead team meetings, one on one meetings, workshops, and educational trainings
  • Participate in other projects or duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine appropriate resourcing of staff in order to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Coach employees on performance gaps, career development opportunities, and strategies.
  • Mentor and coach employees on all human resource related processes including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation and rewards.
  • Recognize others’ contributions and share credit for success.
  • Own attainment of high employee satisfaction and retention; lead development of program and initiatives within group to attain high employee satisfaction.
  • Prepare and manage budget as assigned; analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions to maximize operational performance.

  • A proven track record of meeting sales goals and productivity metrics.
  • A hands-on-mentality and excellent people management skills, capable of inspiring people with your drive, energy, and enthusiasm.

  • The ability to build strong global and cross-departmental relationship to accomplish tasks and achieve goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform well in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to listen and understand information and communicate the same.
  • Must possess good organizational skills.
  • Must be results oriented, customer focused, and exhibit good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office packages.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) plus years of customer facing experience and a minimum of 1 year of B2B sales experience (Global B2B experience preferred)
  • Up to two (2) years of leadership experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
