Ramboll is looking for a passionate, creative and enthusiastic Summer Placement Student to join our Southampton Ground Engineering team for a summer placement between 6 weeks and 3 months in duration (June-Aug). Ramboll’s placement programme is a great way to kickstart or continue your learning by gaining real world experience with our expert Engineers across a range of disciplines. You will join our Southampton Ground Engineering team

As our new Summer Placement Student you will be part of a dynamic and growing company, learning about technical design and practical aspects of engineering. You will get hands on experience through collaborative project work and be given a mentor for your placement who will train, monitor and feedback on your performance throughout your work.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Assist the team with identifying and developing engineering design solutions that are robust, sustainable, and in line with our client’s needs and expectations.
• Carry out engineering calculations and computational analysis.
• Create engineering drawings and sketches, working with the team to communicate our solutions effectively.
• Assist the team in their daily work as required.
• May involve visits to our project sites

Your starting point for constant growth

• Working towards General Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Engineering Geology (or similar) degree in the UK
• Student member of a professional institution (ICE or IStructE).
• A desire to experience and build on a career of engineering design.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
