The Subscription Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing Zuora-driven subscription billing processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies. This role oversees invoicing, revenue recognition, and troubleshooting billing discrepancies while improving workflow automation. The ideal candidate has experience with subscription-based revenue models, strong attention to detail, strong excel skills and the ability to enhance billing efficiencies. This position collaborates with Finance, Sales, and Customer Success teams to support seamless billing operations and improve the customer experience.
 This is a Hybrid role based out of our Carlsbad, CA office.The Target Pay Range for this position is $84,000 - $105,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSubscription Billing & Invoicing

• Manage end-to-end billing operations using Zuora, Salesforce, and ERP systems ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate, review, and validate invoices for subscription-based customers.
• Monitor and troubleshoot billing discrepancies, working cross-functionally to resolve issues.
   

Revenue Recognition & Compliance.

• Ensure subscription revenue is recognized in compliance with ASC 606 and company policies.
• Assist in financial reconciliations related to subscription billings, revenue generation, cash flow and on-demand reporting .
• Support audits and financial reporting as needed.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify and implement improvements in the Zuora billing workflow to enhance efficiency.
• Work with IT and Finance teams to optimize subscription billing automation.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for subscription billing processes.

Customer & Internal Support

• Provide billing-related support to customers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams to ensure seamless subscription lifecycle management.

Education and Experience

• Experience managing subscription billing.
• Finance expertise: Background in billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition for subscription-based businesses.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills: Able to prepare and manage several reconciliation and account management reports from a variety of systems. 
• Attention to detail: Strong analytical skills to identify and correct billing discrepancies.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot billing issues and improve processes.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams and customers.
• Technical proficiency: Experience with Zuora integrations, automation, and reporting tools is a plus.
   

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance requirements.
• Prior experience in SaaS or subscription-based business models.
