The Role

The role emphasizes a creative and welcoming approach towards podcasters while ensuring studio readiness.
Summary Generated by Built In

Since 2014, Acast has been creating the world’s most valuable podcast marketplace, building the technology which connects podcast creators, advertisers and listeners. Its marketplace spans more than 125,000 podcasts, 2,700 advertisers and c.1 billion quarterly listens. Crucially, those listens are monetized wherever they happen - across any podcasting app or other listening platform. The company operates worldwide and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Acast is listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market.

Acast is a trusted partner of some of the biggest podcasts in the UK, spanning every genre and audience – including Off Menu, Help I Sexted My Boss, History Hit, That Peter Crouch Podcast, Stick to Football, Happy Place and Saving Grace. We are proud to work with world-leading publishers including The Guardian and The Economist, and the most innovative podcast producers from Tortoise Media to Fellas Studios.

We are looking for a confident, creative and tech-savvy Studio Coordinator to join our UK & Ireland Content department based in London, supporting creators to produce video podcasts from Acast Studios London. This role is ideal for graduates, new producers and creators looking to break into the media industry.

If you take pride in your creative work and thrive working with the latest cameras, mics and tech, this is an exciting opportunity to work closely with video production. The Studio Coordinator will meet and work with top talent and producers, and enjoy the freedom to continually build upon Acast’s video studios from the vibrant new home of podcasting.

You will be as comfortable up a ladder adjusting lights as you are managing DaVinci Resolve projects. The perfect candidate will be eager to learn as they go, will be able manage their time efficiently, and will quickly problem-solve to dream up imaginative solutions to both technical and logistical challenges.

About the role

The Studio Coordinator will support both established and new shows to make the most of the facilities at Acast Studios London.

The Studio Coordinator will be the friendly first point of contact for all our podcasters, and will ensure the space they have booked is ready for their time slot. Podcasters will book single or recurring slots in their studio of choice, selecting from one of four full-service video studios or our infinity wall for photographic shoots.

Your assistance will include camera settings and positions, optimal lighting, routing audio, setting microphones and vision-mixers, data storage and the sets for each podcast, and being on hand for any assistance throughout each booking, including technical guidance and troubleshooting. You will be a reassuring presence for our podcasters, and will help them to understand the kit they are using with patience and a warm welcoming approach.

This isn’t designed to be a production role, but you can choose to be as involved with a podcast’s production as you would like – especially for new and emerging podcasters using the Amazon Music Studio, who you can help to make their show look and sound great.

As the studios grow, the Studio Coordinator will take the lead on helping to evolve the tech and facilities we offer, with new hardware and software to meet our podcasters’ needs. You will be able to make upgrades and improvements, with the freedom to use and tinker with the latest tech.

The Studio Coordinator will also often work with Acast’s in-house Brand and Creative departments, helping them to use the studios for branded content productions, and to produce assets like trailers and clips for social media. Additionally, to be on hand for Acast’s internal needs (photoshoots, promotional videos etc.). As such, an interest in producing video yourself, and experience with video editing, would be an advantage – we would love to see examples of your work, both personal and professional.

And as a global company, you will work hand in hand with Acast’s teams in the UK and around the world to share best practices for video production, including our colleagues in New York, Paris, Stockholm and Sydney with their own studio offerings.

Who you are

Personable, confident and at ease meeting new podcasters and producers, and ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable with the studio equipment.

Highly organised and capable of managing competing priorities and deadlines.

A real self-starter who will work independently, while collaborating with colleagues across Acast’s content, sales and marketing departments.

A creative thinker, who is keen to push boundaries and experiment with new ideas, with both hardware and software.

Experience with producing your own video content (either personally or professionally) is advantageous, demonstrating that you are comfortable with using cameras, audio equipment and post-production software.

What you’ll do

Welcome podcasters for their studio bookings, and ensuring their studio space is ready for them, including camera settings and positions, lighting, microphones, vision-mixers, data storage, and sets.

Provide some technical guidance and troubleshooting during recordings, and where possible offering additional production support, especially for new podcasters.

Lead the evolution of studio tech and facilities, including technical maintenance of the spaces.

You will report into the Executive Content Director (UK & IE).

This role relies heavily on being present in the London office on weekdays, so this is a fully in-person position. However if there are no bookings on a particular day, Acast UK otherwise has a flexible remote work policy and the Studio Coordinator can elect to work from home if useful.
