We are looking for a Student Assistant to join our Compliance and Data Protection team.
This role offers a rare opportunity to make an impact in a highly international and ambitious company while gaining experience in the area of data protection.
Hempel’s Compliance and Data Protection team is based at the corporate head office in Lyngby, and supports the entire Hempel Group. We are currently a diverse team of five colleagues focusing on different but overlapping areas of compliance and CSR.
Key responsibilities
You will be supporting compliance initiatives with high senior management attention --- working independently and together with others on a wide range of tasks, including:
- Production and promotion of data protection e-learning courses;
- Supporting in data protection assessments using OneTrust tool;
- Supporting Privacy Ambassador project;
- Leading data protection awareness initiatives;
- Preparing progress reports and presentations;
- Providing timely, clear and relevant data protection support to our colleagues at Hempel;
To accomplish your assigned tasks, you will need to communicate effectively with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds. In addition to responding to queries from colleagues around the world, you will often need to understand input from experts in various subject areas such as IT, learning, HR, communications, finance, and legal.
To succeed in this role…
We imagine that you have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Relevant educational background – currently a student in IT, data science, law, human rights, or other data protection related field;
- Tech-savvy – can easily get around various new IT systems such as OneTrust, setup automation flows and understand complex IT systems and applications;
- Have an interest and flair for understanding data (how is it collected, processed, used, deleted), and related business processes;
- Have great experience in using Excel and PowerPoint;
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Other languages are an advantage, but not a must
- Self-motivation with a drive to further development;
- Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable;
- Independent and willing to take individual responsibility for your tasks, while understanding the team’s goals, deadlines, and priorities;
- Good at keeping focus on projects with many stakeholders;
Prior working experience is not required, but a keen interest in data protection is a must.
