Structural Design and Calculations Engineer (m/f)
Rijeka / Pula

Job description:

Basic design of ship’s construction (hull) according to specifications, RB (Regulatory bodies) requirements and best engineering practice:

  • Creating and checking of hull designs and specifications
  • Creating Hull construction drawings for approval by RB
  • Produce order material lists for purchase orders
  • Interface drawings and calculations
  • 3D Beam and FEM global and local calculations
  • Statutory drawings
  • Supporting the RB approval process

Requirements:

  • You have a Master or Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture
  • You have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in the same or similar field of work
  • You are on at least B2 CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for languages) English language proficiency level
  • You have general knowledge of lead shipping classification societies (Lloyds, BV, DNV-GL)
  • You are proficient in structural strength calculations, both according classification society rules and direct calculations (single beam, 3D beam grillages or similar)
  • You are proficient in at least one of the Computer Based Structural Calculation Softwares: Bentley Multiframe, Ansys, Femap or similar (FE analysis)
  • You have good shipbuilding knowledge and understanding of the ship design process including technology and production
  • You are proficient with 3D CAD programs and MS Office packages
  • You are a skilled user of AutoCAD, Cadmatic and Aveva (advantage)
  • You have excellent communications skills, both in Croatian and English
  • You have problem-solving and analytical skills
  • You are detailed, goal-oriented and systematic
  • You are flexible, proactive and responsible
  • You have strong sense of teamwork able to apply it in both a local & international environment
  • You are quality and budget conscious
  • You are eager to learn and acquire new knowledge
  • You are available for frequent travelling abroad in coming 2 years
