Summary
Mizuho U.S. Operations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Stress Testing and Capital Analysis team as a Vice President. In this role, you will develop and enhance stress testing scenarios, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities

Develop and enhance stress testing scenarios for risk management, risk appetite, capital planning based on internal requirements and supervisory guidance (CCAR).

Lead scenario expansion efforts, ensuring comprehensive coverage of material risk factors.

Run stress tests and RWA forecasts, analyzing results to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.

Conduct scenario and historical data consistency checks using advanced analytical tools.

Enhance quantitative models, methodologies, and processes to improve stress testing accuracy, reliability, and attribution.

Lead scenario expansion model development and enhancements for various asset classes including Rates, Equities, FX, Mortgages, and Commodities.

Review existing stress testing scenarios and coordinate with stakeholders to evaluate reasonableness and severity.
Qualifications

Advanced degree in physics, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.

3-7 years of experience applying quantitative/statistical/econometric methodologies to applications in finance.

Proven experience in quantitative analysis, particularly in stress testing and capital analysis.

Strong understanding of various methodologies such as Regression, ECM, ARDL, Machine Learning, and Volatility Scaling.

Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as R, Python, R Shiny, Power BI, MATLAB, and Excel.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Inherent curiosity and a deep desire to understand and improve processes.
The expected base salary ranges from $127,500 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
