Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support the management of the Strategic Portfolio Office, delivering various activities across the portfolio.
- Apply Portfolio Management practices and processes ensuring that the portfolio is consistently following Arch internal methodologies and tools.
- Provide analysis and reporting on portfolio costs, value management (benefits), aligned to requirements of the Transformation Committee and Arch Finance team (eg. Qtrly reporting, budgeting/forecasting)
- Support the management & administration of transformation Tooling (Clarity).
- Support the creation and generation of dashboard reporting (Power BI/Clarity) and provide analytical review/insights using data to support Transformation Portfolio decisions.
- Support scoping of new initiatives – specifically high-level costs / benefits / dependencies.
- Produce periodic metric driven reporting across the transformation portfolio for large, medium and small initiatives.
- Support Resource forecasting in line with transformation portfolio requirements.
- Ensure validity and consistency of reporting data across the transformation portfolio.
- Support the successful execution of key transformation initiatives as required.
- Communicate feedback continuously within the SPM team and with key transformation partners as required.
- Support the delivery of portfolio communications.
Role Requirements & Skills
Skills / Competencies
- Experienced working within/Managing a Portfolio Management function within financial services
- Proficient in the use of Project Management and reporting tools and system (Ideally Clarity/Power BI)
- Analytical and experienced in Data analysis and interpretation in the context transformation portfolio management to support data driven decision making
- Experience of cost management and benefit tracking
- Experienced in Risk & Change Management and escalation procedures in a project and portfolio context
- Strong technical skills and a desire to learn new tooling and applications as required
- Problem-solver with the ability to identify and deliver solutions on issues.
- Strong verbal, written and technical (Excel and PowerPoint) communication skills essential
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty
- A real team player and ability to pivot and support the demand of the team and stakeholders outside of the team (e.g. Business Sponsors, IT, Finance)
- Must be able to work independently to draw conclusions and make recommendations to the Strategic Portfolio Management and Governance Lead
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferable.
- Financial qualification and/or Project Management/Business Analyst accreditation required.
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a Project Management Office, Business Analyst role, with Finance & analytical experience
- London Market Insurance knowledge preferred
