Position Overview

This role leads partner relationships, primarily but not exclusively focused on search monetization. As a Partner Manager, you will be the main point of contact for managing all phases of a partnership including onboarding, optimizing, deal expansion, and ongoing partner support. The role’s primary focus is to drive incremental revenue by recommending and implementing optimization ideas based on your collaboration with partners, internal Yahoo teams, and fellow team members. This role also requires ongoing cross-functional collaboration working closely with Business Development, Operations, Product, Marketplace/Policy, Legal, and other teams as needed.

This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to collaborate with teams in our New York office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage numerous partnerships (many based in EMEA) actively driving and owning overall success and be responsible for the performance of each partner in your assigned book of business. Your book of business will contain both active and passively managed partnerships.

  • Lead optimization efforts to drive incremental revenue for both the partner and for Yahoo.

  • Manage all partner communications and business reporting rhythms including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly meetings.

  • Conduct regular monthly and quarterly business reviews where you present executives with progress reports, KPI performance metrics, and work through new growth opportunities.

  • Manage the full project life cycle, from initiation through implementation.

  • Manage multiple projects, including special projects as needed, with tight deadlines and a sense of urgency.

  • Drive collaboration with internal operational/product teams to complete technical onboarding and technical troubleshooting as needed.

  • Flexible in working with people at all levels and timezones.

  • Create clear, simple, and persuasive narratives to inform and influence executives.

  • Know Yahoo’s asset list inside and out. Understand its business, verticals, platforms and capabilities. Be in lock step with the leadership and product management teams.

  • Be a vertical expert in designated categories, understanding current and future events to help drive the team’s priorities and innovation.

  • Assist in partner renewal efforts.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including experience in partner account management or sales in the Internet, Online Media or Enterprise Software industries. 

  • A proven track record for managing partnerships, especially in the internet space.

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to move fast, and eagerness to exceed goals.

  • Strong program management and collaboration skills.

  • Experience managing peer relationships.

  • Strong cross-functional skills, including ability to motivate and influence others (including members of other teams) to meet your objectives and revenue goals.

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).

  • Ability to periodically meet in our New York office with partners, leadership, team members, and other internal stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel when needed.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Online media/internet expertise preferred or knowledge of the internet search or display advertising industry.

  • Experience in building close “trusted advisor” relationships with external partners.

  • Experience in setting account management strategies and initiatives.

The compensation for this position ranges from $84,750.00 - $176,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
