The Strategic Buyer is responsible for initiating, organizing, and implementing commodity strategies, programs, and policies for the assigned subcategories and commodities, ensuring optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Quality, Delivery, Sustainability, and Innovation. This role will report to the Head of Procurement Latin America.
Your responsibilities will include
- Negotiate purchases of raw materials, films and packaging, both occasional and contractual, seeking the best conditions for the company.
- Contact suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate prices, place sample purchase orders for testing, and participate in follow-ups when escalated by the Supply Chain team.
- Develop and approve new suppliers, ensuring the quality and compliance of products.
- Prepare and present various reports to the Global Procurement team, providing insights and relevant information for decision-making.
- Manage product quality complaints with suppliers, including follow-up and negotiation of agreed values.
- Participate in meetings with suppliers, both in-person and online, to discuss contracts, negotiations, and other related matters.
- Perform price comparisons and data collection to support presentations and negotiations.
- Verify prices and volumes compared to invoiced receipts to ensure the accuracy of transactions.
- Send financial documents to suppliers and manage requests for various samples.
- Prepare spreadsheets and reports in ERP to assist with negotiations and various presentations.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Passion and interest for the Procurement area.
- Negotiation and cost-benefit analysis skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, analytical approach, project management skills.
- Drive and initiative, high energy, and ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Eagerness to work in a team and to cooperate across departments in an international environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Mandatory Fluency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
Will be considered a plus experiences on:
• Preferentially Consumer goods experienced.
• Data’s Management – Excel and Data analytics experience.
• Power BI experiences.
• Structure reports to the Lead Plant in Europe.
• Raw Materials experience buying papers and petrochemicals derivatives.
• Project Management experienced.
