We are hiring for a Strategic Account Manager to drive consistent profitable growth by achieving sales objectives within designated pan-European customers. The aim of this role is to further strengthen the business with customers by demonstrating our capabilities and building strong relationships on a European level and become a trusted advisor.
The Strategic Account Manager will also partner with local Key Account Managers to cultivate relationships, identify opportunities, and increase sales by establishing clear goals, strategies, and initiatives, driving the necessary changes to ensure the achievement of goals.
Responsibilities
- Define the strategy to increase revenue and profitability with our pan-European customers
- Create and manage account tactics to deliver on sales goals to enable top-line growth and gain share, and maximize profitability
- Building and strengthening relationships with our customers
- Establish pricing programs and strategies; Define the value proposition, including service, price, and product platform strategies
- Standardize contracts, price strategy and rebate programs.
- Lead the coordination of customer tactics between our internal teams
- Being creative in finding solutions for our customers and winning new business
- Developing a sound understanding of the competitive landscape assessing continuously for trends and opportunities
- Using data to effectively analyze customer performance as well as creating regular sales forecasts
- Create short- and long-term commercial strategies to deliver revenue and profitability targets
- Manage key growth initiatives
- Partner with the local Key Account Managers to prioritize initiatives and activities to deliver the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
- Ensure our cost-to-serve model is generating acceptable levels of profitability and be responsible for cost-to-serve decisions such as pricing, sample spend and rebates.
- Build account growth plans including new growth opportunities
- Collaborate with Operations & Supply Chain teams to assure pan-European customer support
Requirements
- Strong academic record with a master degree in relevant fields like economics, marketing, or any other analytical studies. Additional qualifications in Health Care will be of advantage.
- +8 years of successful sales experience, with 5 years of sales management experience in the LifeScience industry is preferred.
- Expert business and financial acumen; ability to understand short and long-term consequences
- Demonstrated successful sales experience in a sales position that involved negotiating complex transactions with upper-level management positions
- End to end experience in managing strategic high value accounts on a European level
- Excellent customer needs assessment skills
- Skilled in developing sales penetration and growth strategies at targeted accounts.
- Very strong analytical skills paired with excellent presentation and communication skills to translate data into action
- Personal accountability for business results & customer focus
- Think and act beyond current role with support of overall goals
- Entrepreneurship and business acumen; showing a winning attitude and commitment
