The Storage Engineer is crucial in ensuring data integrity, availability, and security across the enterprise and will be an experienced Backup/Storage Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience to join our IT team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, management, and maintenance of our organization's backup and storage systems.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
Support and Maintenance:
- Assist in managing and maintaining backup systems, including scheduling, monitoring, and verifying backups.
- Support the maintenance of storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Perform regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure data can be restored effectively.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide basic troubleshooting for backup and storage-related issues.
- Assist senior engineers in resolving incidents and ensuring service continuity.
- Document and escalate complex issues to senior team members.
Implementation and Configuration:

Assist in configuring and deploying backup and storage systems under the guidance of senior engineers.

Participate in the implementation of new backup and storage solutions.
Security and Compliance:
- Help implement data security measures, including encryption and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data storage and protection.
- Maintain accurate documentation for backup and storage procedures and configurations.
Optimization and Reporting:
- Monitor storage usage and performance, reporting any anomalies to senior engineers.
- Assist in generating and reviewing reports on backup and storage system performance and capacity.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, IT, or relevant field. required2. 3-5 years related work experience required.3. Hands-on experience with Commvault4.
