We therefore require Senior Software Developers to help build the applications and platforms upon which we build the rest of our new IT landscape.
Our development teams have a big responsibility at STARK IT and are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing original software solutions for our business applications including data produced within their own product domain as well as interfaces towards other applications both up and down stream.
Our Senior Software Developers do not have people management responsibilities, but they play a crucial part in defining the team, hiring the right technical candidates, and making sure that our new colleagues are onboarded correctly.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership within the Scrum development team, adhering to established guidelines and best practices.
- Offer technical guidance, planning, direction, and solutions within your value stream and technical domain.
- Develop and implement standards to ensure high-quality software.
- Collaborate with other development teams to support the overall direction of our IT landscape.
- Participate in internal and external networks to stay at the forefront of technology and share insights with colleagues.
- Participate and help in leading in Scrum activities, including sprint planning and refinement.
- Coordinate effectively with a distributed team across multiple nationalities to meet project deadlines.
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues on best practices in software development, teamwork, estimation, technology selection, and quality assurance.

Who We Are Looking For
Must-Have Technical Skills
- Over 5 years of software development experience.
- Knowledge and experience with Java, but in general technology agnostic.
Good-to-Have Technical Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with frontend React framework.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and JUnit testing framework.
Soft Skills Requirements
- Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills.
- Flexible yet organized work style.
- Experience working internationally with diverse cultures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Other Requirements
- Experience working in a software development environment with dependencies across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to write, understand, and translate business-level acceptance criteria into technical designs for the team.
- Strong ability to research, troubleshoot, and logically determine solutions.
- Comfortable balancing deadlines and finding the right solutions.
- Strong understanding of Scrum methodologies and experience leading refinement sessions.
