We’re searching for a visionary Staff Visual Designer to bring our brand to life in bold, compelling ways. As Staff Visual Designer, you’ll take the lead in conceptualizing and crafting high-impact creative work that resonates across digital, print, and experiential channels. You’ll collaborate with an inspired team of designers, marketers, and technologists to translate complex ideas into visually stunning narratives that engage and captivate our audiences. From smart marketing campaigns to immersive brand experiences, your work will directly influence how the world perceives Aurora and our groundbreaking self-driving technology.

In this role, you will 

  • Design with impact – Develop and execute a diverse range of creative marketing projects, ensuring every piece aligns with and elevates Aurora’s brand identity.
  • Shape our brand’s future – Partner with creative leadership to refine and evolve our visual identity, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Think big, create boldly – Conceptualize and bring to life creative campaigns across digital, print, social, events, apparel, and more.
  • Tell compelling stories – Work with product, engineering, and marketing teams to distill complex technical information into visually engaging, easy-to-understand content.
  • Stay ahead of the curve – Keep up with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to push the boundaries of creativity.

 Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience in graphic design, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role—ideally within tech, automotive, or product-driven industries.
  • A strong, diverse portfolio showcasing your ability to create visually compelling and strategic designs across multiple platforms.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and a keen eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling. Bonus points for illustration, motion graphics, video editing, or 3D design skills.
  • A deep understanding of brand identity development and the ability to maintain consistency across all creative assets.
  • Passion for innovation, design excellence, and emerging technology—especially in self-driving, AI, or transportation.
  • A fast-moving, solutions-oriented mindset, thriving in an agile, early-commercial environment.

 Desirable Qualifications

  • Motion graphics, animation, or 3D design experience.
  • Traditional illustration for conceptual sketching.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets)
  • Presentation software (Google Slides, PowerPoint, Keynote)
  • Photography, image retouching, or video editing skills.
  • Familiarity with automotive, AI, or self-driving technologies.

The base salary range for this position is $124,000 - $199,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
