Meet the team:

Join our dynamic team as we navigate and lead Dexcom New Product Introduction Procurement programs and projects in an exciting, fast-paced area of bringing new products, product changes, and new manufacturing sites into global production. 

As the procurement lead for R&D New Product core teams, you will drive sourcing strategy and execution for new product introductions, manage procurement activities for new factory setups and line extensions, and lead cross-functional teams to align sourcing with product launch schedules. You will provide regular project updates to stakeholders, foster strong cross-functional relationships, and work with sourcing managers to mitigate risks. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records, prepare status reports, continuously improve processes, and coordinate procurement activities to support project needs. Monitoring project progress and adjusting plans as needed will also be key responsibilities.

Where you come in:

  • You serve as the procurement lead on R&D New Product core teams, driving the sourcing strategy and execution for new product introductions.

  • You manage procurement activities related to new factory bring up and significant line extension programs.

  • You lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including sourcing, engineering, and quality, to align sourcing activities with product launch schedules. Ensuring that all procurement activities are completed on time and within budget.

  • You provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.  You foster strong cross-functional relationships to understand business needs and leverage support where needed.

  • You work with sourcing managers to identify potential risks associated with new product sourcing and develop mitigation strategies.

  • You maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, contracts, and costs. Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management, highlighting progress, issues, and resolutions.

  • You continuously evaluate and improve relevant processes (RFx, PDP, etc) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to support successful new product launches.

  • You coordinate inputs from project teams and develop detailed project schedule for procurement milestones that align with program schedules and cost targets.  You ensure project teams are working in conjunction with category strategies.

  • You assist in coordinating quotes, purchase orders, deliveries, and other procurement activities to support project needs.

  • You monitor project progress, adjust plans as needed, and measure performance to identify areas for improvement. 

What makes you successful:

  • You have knowledge and experience in Procurement, Engineering and Project Management.

  • You demonstrate independent successful management of complex technical projects and programs.

  • You have excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical and business information clearly and effectively through informal and formal documents, reports, and presentations to senior management.  

  • You bring significant leadership experience and an understanding of regulated change control, product development process and medical device design control manufacturing transfer. 

  • You have significant technical knowledge and an understanding of FDA/ISO regulations working with GMP’s and ISO standards. 

  • You are proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Smartsheet.  

Experience and Education:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Master’s degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.

Travel Required: 

  • 0-5%

Flex Workplace: Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
