Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

Your Day at GE:

  • Interact with Product Managers, customers and stakeholders in fine tuning product backlog for the engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers/TPMs to decompose features into consumable user stories.
  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and products.
  • Show increasing understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product.
  • Routinely collaborate with UX Design to know customers and understand behaviours.
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder interviews and elaborates on personas.
  • Conduct Formative and Summative sessions.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence customers and product managers through persuasion and influencing.
  • Collaborate with SM & PMO for the release and sprint backlogs short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases.
  • Own and manage the backlog; continuously order and prioritize to ensure that prioritized backlog exists for at least 2-3 sprints ahead.
  • Own and write all User Stories and Acceptance Criteria for team.
  • Provide Solution to challenges from customer point of view.
  • Work on creating futuristic backlog for workflows and present ideas to Engineering Leaders
  • Work with Engineering teams and support in POCs
  • Engage frequently with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contribute to design activities and decisions.
  • Own demo setup and demo functionalities of sprint work.
  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work unit.
  • Partner with Service Owners/ Development Managers to ensure healthy development process.
  • Apply Agile Methodologies and ensure ownership of product backlog.
  • Use Requirements Engineering techniques and tools to ensure all scenarios get covered.
  • Get involved in Learning activities and business level activities.
  • File IP disclosures

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of software design and coding principles

• Experience working in an Agile environment

• Familiarity with versatile implementation options

• Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security

  • Experience on AWS or any other cloud platform is desired
  • Experience in Data Analytics project is desired

• Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

• Has the ability to analyse impact of technology choices

• Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team. Balances value propositions for competing stakeholders.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the competitive environment

• Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and to drive market timing decisions

Leadership:

• Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for

ideas. Pre-emptively sees downstream consequences and effectively tailors

influencing strategy to support a positive outcome.

• Able to verbalize what is behind decisions and downstream implications.

Continuously reflecting on success and failures to improve performance and decision-making.

planning.
