Position Overview:
Are you passionate about helping your fellow developers raise the bar of excellence, improve their ways of working, and reduce friction? The Developer Enablement and Developer Productivity team at Diligent is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join us in making software development simpler across Diligent’s global engineering team.
In this role you will get to work directly with your customers, the other internal Engineering teams. You will be responsible for understanding their pain points, designing and implementing solutions that scale across an engineering organization of 800+, and measuring the impact on the organization.
By joining our team, you’ll become a change agent responsible for driving initiatives across teams and the organization. You’ll be raising the bar when it comes to the quality, maintainability, and operation of our code. You’ll be challenged to think BIG and reach beyond your comfort zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates strong technical leadership across multiple teams
- Able to spot the biggest pain points of complex systems and propose scalable solutions which consider the long-term strategy of the organization
- Able to influence the engineering culture and practices of teams across the organization
- Experienced mentor, able to hire and be a dependable team member who takes up complex and challenging tasks, and completes them without Manager’s involvement and supervision
Required Experience/Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for continuous learning, and sharing knowledge to level-up those around you
- Proven ability to architect solutions in AWS, using infrastructure-as-code practices in Terraform, CDK, or similar tools
- Experience working in a DevOps model, being responsible for all aspects of the software development life cycle (designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting software in production)
- Proactively engages with customers and has a customer-first mindset
- Creates space for others to voice their ideas, and engages in exploring them
- Experience with Typescript, VSCode, Cursor, GitHub Copilot (or other AI productivity tools)
- Experience developing CI/CD using tools such as AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions
Pay Range
$110,000—$139,000 CAD
