The Team:
Our Process Modeling team focuses on improving and extending the process discovery and process modeling capabilities according to customer requirements, academic insights, and research. The team takes special care of integrating data-driven modeling approaches into our product.
The Role:
You will be part of the Process Mining Technology department. The team develops and tests new and innovative process discovery and (data-driven) process modeling algorithms and approaches. As a Staff Software Engineer for Process Modeling, you will actively identify customer needs, search for process discovery and process modeling trends, and relate them to the product. You will reduce requirements and ideas to code, evaluate the efficacy of this code, and implement it in our products. You will interact closely with other software engineers and product managers within the product and engineering organization to successfully deploy your code in production.
The work you’ll do:
- Develop the technical "vision" and design specifications of projects in the area of process discovery and modeling and take the lead in the implementation
- Execute the vision and roadmap of the department, working in close collaboration with product management, UX design, and engineering peers
- Help to establish and refine good practices for the whole team
- Resolve doubts and suggest approaches for other engineers in the team, related to specific frameworks, algorithms, design patterns, and best practices
- Foster a strong collaboration between your team and the different engineering teams and stakeholders at Celonis
The qualifications you need:
- A university degree in the area of computer science with a specialization in process mining or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in state-of-the-art process mining
- 10+ years of experience in software development with Python, Java, or C++
- Ability to technically guide a team of engineers on open-ended technical problems from architectural design through implementation and adoption
- An analytical mind with a great understanding of complex algorithms and data management
- Ability to drive innovation in the area of process discovery and process modeling
- Having experience with object-centric process mining is a plus
- Practical process modeling experience with BPMN is a plus
- Ability to quickly learn new things without tight supervision
- A proactive mindset and demonstrated experience in taking ownership
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
