Job Description
About the team:
Platform Labs tackles hard problems, de-risking strategic technical initiatives for engineering teams across the organization by creating functional proofs of concepts and providing support to integrate them into roadmaps for successful adoption.
This team of Staff+ engineers works on projects in a variety of technical areas in the ServiceNow platform & AI Technology engineering organization. From AI Agents to platform performance and developer productivity, Platform Labs embraces emergent technologies while balancing the feasibility and constraints of operating at ServiceNow's scale. What you get to do in this role:

• The engineering role in Platform Labs provides the opportunity to research and learn. Staying abreast of new technologies or adopting tried and tested standards is part of the work.
• Build proofs-of-concept for strategic Agentic and Generative AI initiatives, along with other product areas in alignment with strategic business priorities
• Justify your choices with thorough examination and discussion
• Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code, advocating for software engineering architecture and process best practices (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite.
• Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing

Qualifications

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
• 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of Python, Java or other popular languages (C++, Go, Rust, C# etc)

Nice to have:

• Experience working in Docker, Kubernetes or other cloud native technologies.
• Experience working with relational databases including development, troubleshooting and performance optimization

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $147,300 - $257,800, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs.
Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
