Staff Software Engineer (Frontend)

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain software for our industry-leading DNA sequencing and Microarray platforms

• Collaborate with global stakeholders, architects and development teams and deliver high quality software products throughout SDLC

• Drive engineering standards, tooling, processes and best practices

• Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability of new software technologies to platform development efforts

• Provide technical leadership where needed.

Who we are looking for:

• Proven experience in leading resolutions to complex problems

• Extensive knowledge and experience with Angular 11/12+, JavaScript, Java, HTML

• Deep understanding of SOA, RESTful services, and architectural patterns such as Micro frontend architecture

• Experienced in container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, helm charts)

• Familiarity with AWS architecture and concepts (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, etc.)

• Proficient with CI/CD methods and tooling, Jenkins, Github Actions

• Working knowledge of Tomcat/Jetty. Experience with Nginx, Apache web server is appreciated

• Demonstrated success in leading in a fast-paced team environment and delivering high-quality software products

• Possess proven troubleshooting skills

• Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly

• Proactive and team-oriented with strong collaboration skills; comfortable working across functions and time zones

• Have proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationships

• Have proven verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Experience/Education:

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or 3 years’ with a PH.D.; or equivalent experience

• Experience in the field of Life Science and/or Bioinformatics is a plus
