Position Description: Vocera Now a part of Stryker is looking for a talented, hands-on Staff Engineer(Full Stack Engineer with Java and Angular) to join our growing organization. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of complete integration solutions for rapid delivery of critical events and communications to healthcare professionals to provide improved patient care. The Vocera platform supports dozens of integrations through adapters and enables flexible clinical workflows through a common integration framework and rules engine. You will play a pivotal role in developing new adapters and integrating them comprehensively into clinical workflows. Additionally, you will be actively crafting user interfaces for various features within the Vocera platform. This position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering, Integrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing integrations and clinical workflows within the Vocera platform.
  • Partnering effectively with product owners and key internal stakeholders to ascertain product requirements.
  • Applying SOLID design principles and design patterns to address specific product needs.
  • Practicing good engineering methodologies within an Agile development framework.
  • Actively engaging in continuous learning through peer review and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensuring product quality by unit test, functional, and system tests in collaboration with automation engineers.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive data model designs.
  • Documenting processes, designs, and product capabilities as required.

  • Track record of building and delivering solutions based on a solid understanding of customer needs.
  • Results-driven, hands-on approach to the full product life cycle from architecture development to product implementation.
  • A passion for the end-to-end development of quality software products.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and debugging, communications, and documentation skills.
  • Resourceful and able to solve complex problems through adapting technology and a deep understanding of product architecture.
  • Proficient in designing and developing microservices architecture, with expertise in scalable and resilient systems.
  • Proficient in designing and developing microservices architecture with expertise in containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Additionally, hands-on experience in optimizing microservices for performance, scalability, and security would be considered a significant asset, further enhancing the candidate's suitability for the role.

Requirements:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • or equivalent
  • 6+ years of development experience
  • Strong proficiency with Java, Linux, databases, Angular, and Restful services.
  • Experience working with spring boot and hibernate would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of common networking and messaging protocols such as TCP, UDP, SOAP, JSON, XML, RTP, and SIP.
  • Advanced experience with Git, unit testing, and code review processes.
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with client-side frameworks, and UI development.
  • Consistent track record of overcoming obstacles to deliver high-quality technical results within committed time parameters.
