JOB DESCRIPTION
CMIT Small Appliances Sub COU is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to expand ASEAN market operations and strengthen relationships with key customers. The role requires deep technical knowledge in appliance standards (IEC 60335, IEC 60730, IEC 61508) and the ability to drive business growth through both operational leadership and technical expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership:

  • Act as the primary technical contact for ASEAN customers, resolving complex engineering issues and ensuring compliance with UL procedures and requirements.


Project Management:

  • Handle projects across multiple locations, coordinating testing, and conducting L3 project reviews as needed.


Business Development:

  • Lead sales efforts to secure projects, plan and develop business models, and grow the ASEAN footprint.


Standards and Testing:

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of IEC 60335, 60730, and 61508 to evaluate appliances and develop custom testing methods for unique product features.


Global Collaboration:

  • Support regional and global initiatives related to small appliances, contributing to technical committees and representing UL in national and international forums.


Special Projects:

  • Lead special projects involving complex or novel engineering challenges, serving as a key technical advisor and, when applicable, as a Primary Designated Engineer


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's or University Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry, focusing on electrical appliances.
  • Expertise in software analysis (IEC 60730), functional safety (IEC 61508), and appliance evaluation (IEC 60335).
  • Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues and innovate beyond existing standards.
  • Strong project management and customer relationship skills within the ASEAN market.
  • Deep understanding of technical standards, lab testing, and product certification processes.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to expand business operations in the region.
