Group Description:
The Precision Amplifiers Group develops next generation precision IC solutions for a broad range of industrial, instrumentation and multi markets. The Scientific Instruments end market is focused on transforming molecules into insights in applications such as food safety, air and water quality, drug discovery and development as well as genetic sciences. Position:
Staff Engineer is a technical lead role focused on the test development activities associated with the new product development of precision amplifier and sensor products. The candidate will be involved in every phase of product development from inception to first silicon bring-up, through correlation, characterization, qualification, release to manufacturing and throughout the life cycle of the product. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and will have experience with both Analog and Mixed-Signal products. The candidate will have the opportunity to mentor and train junior engineers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Generation of detailed test plans guaranteeing EC table performance and functionality. Early collaboration with design to implement DFT, BIST and testability features to optimize cost and improve quality.
- Develop innovative, cost-efficient, and manufacturable wafer-level and IC test solutions on high performance analog & mixed signal ATE platforms.
- Execute all phases of the development process including silicon debug, correlation, characterization, limit generation, yield analysis and offshore production transfer.
- Schematic design, layout supervision, component procurement and assembly supervision of multi-site ATE HW for precision analog amplifiers and mixed signal IC’s.
- Perform rigorous characterization data analysis using statistical methodologies for silicon characterization. Monitor manufacturing (sort, assembly, test) yields versus expected yield, and implement yield improvement and cost reduction solutions in production.
• Demonstrate solid oral, written, and presentation communication skills to efficiently communicate across a global organization where success is highly dependent on collaboration and effective communication
Qualifications:
- BS or MS degree in EE or ECE or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
- 7+ years of experience as a Test Engineer or related discipline
- ATE development experience with National Instruments NI (Labview), Teradyne Flex (IG-XL/VBT), Eagle, SPEA, LTX, 93K and/or similar ATE systems. NI-GP3 & Flex preferred.
- PCB Schematic Capture proficiency with Cadence Allegro, OrCad or equivalent software. Experience with probe card development utilizing both cantilever and vertical probe technologies.
- Amplifier or similar precision analog test development experience is preferred.
- Fundamental Circuit analysis and debug skills are required.
- Strong analytical skills and an understanding of statistical analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work to aggressive schedules.
