ResMed has always applied the best of technology to improve people's lives. Now our SaaS technology is fueling a new era in the healthcare industry, with dynamic systems that change the way people receive care in settings outside of the hospital–and tools that work every day to help people stay well, longer. We have one of the largest actionable datasets in the industry, creating a complete view of people as they move between care settings. This is how we empower providers–with vital insight to deliver the care people need, right when they need it.

We're also ensuring that our health solutions connect to other companies' networks. Because when objectives align, everyone wins. And as we work today to drive better care and lower costs, we're developing more personalized solutions for tomorrow, utilizing machine learning, intelligent care paths, and predictive protocols. If you are an innovator who wants to make an impact we want to talk to you! We have exciting opportunities supporting Brightree by ResMed and MatrixCare by ResMed!

As Systems Architect in Resupply you will be responsible for the architectural strategy for our resupply solutions. This role requires a strong foundation in software engineering combined with the ability to lead by influence; design, educate, and deliver.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on software engineer at heart, a polyglot with expertise across multiple languages and frameworks, who constantly scouts emerging technologies to drive their adoption within the organization and remains at the forefront of innovation.

You will work closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our software architecture aligns with the company's strategic objectives while prioritizing innovation, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

 Modernization and new architectural design:

  • Develop and execute a scalable architecture strategy to address legacy pain points, including monolithic decomposition, domain-driven design (DDD), and cloud-native transformation, paving the way for the next generation of resupply solutions.
  • Establish a forward-looking architecture roadmap that integrates cloud-native designs, machine learning, and other emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Product Management, Commercial Leaders, and other key teams, to align modernization efforts with commercial objectives.

Standardize and Govern System Design:

  • Create and enforce architecture principles, patterns, and best practices to ensure robust, secure, and consistent system design.
  • Lead regular architecture reviews to validate stability, scalability, security, and alignment with business goals.

Cloud Architecture and Optimization:

  • Experience in cloud migration, as well as designing and implementing cloud-native products in AWS.
  • Leverage cloud-native services, such as serverless computing and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Work closely with the Development Experience Team to leverage existing assets and services in your strategy and plans.

AI and Emerging Technology Leadership:

  • While this role is not intended to be a data scientist, it is expected that the candidate must understand AI/ML as an engineer and identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML across solutions.
  • Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge tools, frameworks, and platforms to modernize the tech stack while driving innovation.
  • Partner with data science teams to align AI initiatives with product strategy and business needs.

Lead and Mentor Architectural Excellence:

  • Lead, fostering technical mastery and collaboration.
  • Mentor engineering teams on adopting new technologies, ensuring smooth transitions, and knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with Stakeholders:

  • Partner with engineering, product, and leadership teams to align technical decisions with strategic objectives.
  • Partner with architects across ResMed, build and foster relationships to drive standards, reuse, and adoption across the larger enterprise

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Leadership and Communication Skills:

  • This role requires leadership by influence, working across teams to drive architectural decisions, mentorship, and technical excellence.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with experience presenting technical strategies to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across multiple product lines and across the enterprise.
  • Strong decision-making ability, balancing technical trade-offs with business priorities.
  • Proven experience leading teams through large-scale technical transitions, balancing innovation with business continuity.
  • Deep understanding of the cultural and operational challenges of modernizing legacy systems and strategies to mitigate resistance to change.

Systems Design:

  • Strong background in designing and operating highly scalable, reliable, and secure systems, including microservices, event-driven architectures, and APIs.
  • Experience in decomposing large, monolithic systems into more manageable, independent components, increasing their testability, speed of delivery, and reducing accidental complexity.

Emerging Technology:

  • Hands-on experience evaluating, adopting, and integrating emerging technologies like LLM, serverless computing, microservices, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
