Staff Quality Engineer
Stryker is hiring a Staff Quality Engineer in Flower Mound, Texas. In this role, you will contribute to product development from concept through release by translating user needs into design inputs/specifications and producing advanced component and sub-system level designs
Work Flexibility: Hybrid. This role requires reasonable proximity to our Stryker Flower Mound facility. You should be comfortable working multiple days onsite.
What you will do:
- Design and develop electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices.
- Develop and apply advanced circuit and electrical system test methods.
- Conduct advanced prototyping, testing, and research to support product design.
- Analyze and solve complex product design issues with independent judgment.
- Balance design tradeoffs while creating system components.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of customer needs, market trends, and competitive offerings to advance solutions.
- Mentor others in industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies.
- Lead the creation and refinement of engineering documentation (e.g., Design History file) and support the improvement of procedures, policies, and processes.
What you will need:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Science, or a related discipline and 4+ years of related experience in Quality Assurance and/or R&D.
- OR Associate degree and 8+ years of related experience in Quality Assurance and/or R&D.
- OR high school diploma and 10+ years of related experience in Quality Assurance and/or R&D.
Preferred:
- Advanced understanding of electrical components and manufacturing methods including common failure modes
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and test electrical designs
- Working knowledge of the electrical design process
- Proficiency in the use of CAD and/or other circuit design and analysis tools to design
- Ability to interpret and analyze system drawings with basic Mechanical/Software/Electrical Interactions
