The Role:

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join Yubico's finance team. You will have a variety of transactional, general ledger, and reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who has exceptional attention to detail, and the skills needed to be comfortable working with critical and sensitive data. The position will focus on ensuring efficient and accurate processing of transactions, interpreting and applying company accounting policy, preparing general ledger schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and identifying process improvement opportunities in a fast-growing environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate bank account records by reconciling financial transactions with bank statements, promptly detecting and addressing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports such as profit and loss statements and the balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• Month-End Financial Management: record journal entries, update and prepare balance sheet schedules including bank, credit card, and other reconciliations, and review and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Finance Communications: handle communications with departments and coworkers and promptly address queries.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3 - 5 years’ experience working with general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Experience with NetSuite, Confluence, and Google Workspaces preferred.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a problem-solving mentality are crucial to success in this role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort in dealing with staff, managers, and directors from all departments.
