Sealing Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for overseeing inventory management, full-cycle accounting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Duties and responsibilities will include:
Inventory Management:
- Ensure financial statements accurately reflect inventory balance, obsolescence reserve, and cost of goods sold.
- Collaborate with the Product Operations team to perform monthly inventory reconciliations, ensuring all receiving and shipping transactions are accurately recorded and allocated to the correct projects.
- Maintain inventory transaction integrity between ERP (Unanet) and IMS (Flowtrac) systems.
- Assist in the quarterly physical count of inventory, documenting and researching discrepancies.
Sales Tax:
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely sales tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Review and reconcile sales tax accounts, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Accounting:
- Conduct three-way matching for supplier invoices to ensure alignment between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all supplier invoices and payments.
- Perform a full-spectrum accounting cycle, assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and annual close processes.
- Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Assist in the review, verification, and processing of vendor invoices for payment.
- Assist in the reconciliation of accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies or issues.
- Support vendor management processes, including the setup of new vendors.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Experience with government contracting and familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations.
- US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Unanet.
- Advanced knowledge of inventory management and reconciliation processes.
This role has an internal job title of a Staff Accountant IV with a corresponding base salary range of $78k to $92k (aligned with current national standards) and set in line with internal benchmarks. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to the anticipated salary, one will have the opportunity to qualify for bonuses.
